The voice of Deputy Judges
ODJA is the only association in Ontario made up exclusively of Deputy Judges. We are the “Voice of Deputy Judges” at the government table.
ODJA is known for its member camaraderie, exceptional educational opportunities and judicial resources. All current and former Deputy Judges are welcome to join ODJA as voting members.

Compensation and working conditions
Since 2006, ODJA has been invited to represent the interests of Deputy Judges at the triennial commission on compensation, whose Commissioner makes recommendations to the government. We make the case for:
- the real cost of a day in court instead of in your office
- the skills needed to hear a broad range of matters in an increased jurisdiction
- up-to-date technology and equipment, currently paid for by the Deputy Judge
- pay that is equitable and commensurate with other members of the judiciary

Shaping the Caswell seminar
Our Education Committee works with the Deputy Judges Council to set the agenda for the annual Caswell seminar for all Deputy Judges, and many of our members have presented at Caswell over the years.
